"I am sure much will be written about the Yanks, maybe a book or two." I would think that, "maybe two" books have and surely will be written about the Bronx Bombers! (Before I continue, let me just say that I rather enjoy getting some of my news and opinions from Hoguenews.com and more specifically Paul Smith. For that, this is being said out of love not hate.) In that case, why don't you leave the writing to the writers who are going to get deeper and offer some original thoughts on the subject. Joe Buck has more insightful things to say about the Yankees than this piece does and he has no insight. You missed the entire point of the article, the point that you proclaimed from the start. Should teams that practice these spending habits be celebrated? The article seemingly sets off to answer that question but takes a stumble and gets sidetracked. With missed punctuation marks and spelling errors, the article spits out random questions only to be followed by more inane questions. We get it; if you want better seats then pay for them, to have a better team you're going to have to spend more. Sure that makes sense but then you start talking about teams who can't spend like that and still win. I suppose this is said to create a balance to the previous assertion but I can't make the connection back to celebrating teams for their spending. "So [I can] hate the Yankees or love them" but what does your friend Miri have to do with them or the World Series? Was she playing on ESPN2 and I didn't know about it, my apologies if that was the case? I must agree that this is America and I do think we should be able to spend our hard earned money as we see fit even if we have to take some heat for it. I appreciate what you do and want you to keep on doing it but just focus on what you're good at. This quasi-analysis on the World Series, it's reflections on society and the impact which it has on everyday fans which ended in a sloppy self-promoting plea for attention doesn't need to take place. I look forward to reading more of your articles on this site and becoming more inspired and reinvigorated to making this country what it was and still can be. Fill free to re-submit this Yankee article as you see fit.
