Interest for a Conservative Gubernatorial Candidate

Posted on August 3 2009   by Eric Hogue

The weekend was full of readers coming to HOGUE NEWS to learn more about the ‘new’ social, fiscal Miller for Gov Logoconservative candidate who is running for Governor of California as a Republican.

His name is Ken Miller, a Fremont-Bay Area resident.

His campaign is feeding me everyday, here is the latest from his announcement on Saturday.

August 1, 2009

(Fremont, CA) – Life-long businessman and Fremont resident, Ken Miller, announced today that he has begun to seek the Republican nomination for Governor in 2010.

In speaking to a gathering in Fremont, Miller boldly said, “I’ll be damned if I sit here and allow the tumbleweed politicians that have taken control of this state to run it any longer. The time has come – for this state to be a government OF the people, BY the people, For the people, instead of what it has become…a government of the politicians, by the politicians for the politicians.”

He went on to say that, “It is the tumbleweed politicians that have continued to enlarge our debt and bureaucracy as well as encumber our family and business life and even health care with no restraint.”

He called on the citizens of California to, “remove the tumbleweed politicians from the legislature and elect righteous leaders…remember, tumbleweeds don’t bear fruit.”

In late August, Miller and his family will start walking the state of California, from north to south and will meet with the people of this state and listen to their concerns, their passions and their needs. “I care about the things that you care about,” he told the crowd.

“We want to remove the influence of tumbleweeds from the environment. We want to remove the influence of tumbleweeds from the workplace. Most of all, we want to remove the tumbleweed’s influence upon our families, especially upon our children.”

Miller, 50, is married to Kathy Miller and they have two children Mary Kathryn (9) and Mary Elizabeth (7). He grew up in suburban Los Angeles and Washington DC, as well as North Central Pennsylvania. Professionally he worked in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast before returning to what he calls his home – California – in 2003.

He spent twenty-seven years in the radio business with a background in executive management, sales and marketing. He is a social, fiscal conservative with a pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-immigrant stance. He is a devout Christian and member of Harbor Light, First Assembly of God, in Fremont, CA.

I checked earlier this morning, his campaign website is still not operating, but the campaign phone number is working to voice mail and you will get a returned call from the staff.

Miller is a very, very long shot – but he seems serious about the issues he brings to the table.

  1. Tom Anderson says:

You can’t effectively oppose collectivism with bad arguments. This man is a Christian and since his religion shares the same moral outlook of the collectivists, that man exists to serve for the benefit of others rather than himself and his own values, he will fail. There is only one way to effectively oppose collectivism and that is by rejecting the sacrifical moral code of altruism.

    Tom,

This is always a good discussion, but as it relates to Christians there is a core value of adherence to overall righteousness. That a Christian running needs to adhere to law, liberty and individual rights. Christians (those sincere and understanding of the book of Romans and Government) believe in individualism at their core. As for Miller’s chances, they are very long in this case. THANKS.

    I hope he wins.

  4. Jeannie says:

We can’t worry about if he can win or not. If he is who he claims to be then I believe we need to stand behind him and let God.
