Why Doris Matsui is so wrong for the 5th  Congressional District in Sacramento.

On Sunday 6/8/09 the Sacramento Bee journalist Bobby Calvin did an interview with Doris Matsui.  I for one couldn’t have been more disappointed in this ‘puff’ piece that is masquerading as an interview on Health Care.

The first question asked was “what’s wrong with health care?”  Matsui’s eye opening response was “it’s too expensive!”  Are you kidding me?  This is what Matsui thinks is wrong with health care?  That’s all we get?  This from someone who worked on the Hillary Care bill?  Then she cited that 50 million Americans don’t have health care.   This is what is wrong with health care according to Doris Matsui.  Folks… we are saved!  Good grief a 5th grader could have said that.

Bobby asked this question.  “How do you fix it?”  Matsui answered and said, “I was involved in the Clinton Bill and we need to control costs and it’s expensive and every American needs to have coverage!” Thanks goodness Doris Matsui has come up with a plan to fix health care!   This is what we get from our elected representative in Congress?  That is the in-depth knowledge she has on fixing it?   Are you kidding me?  “It’s too expensive” is how Mastui plans on fixing it?  I could have trained a parrot to say that.

Bobby then asked “whose fault is it?”  Read what she had to say folks… she said it is “probably everybody’s fault.”  Probably?  She doesn’t know for sure?  I thought she was an expert.  She should be able to cite some specifics don’t you think?  I can tell you it isn’t my fault and it’s not the fault of 200 million Americans either!   This is the best we get from someone who has been in Congress for 4 years?  And we wonder why our country is in peril?

Later Bobby asked a question about pitting private insurance against government insurance.  Listen to this folks…  I think we have the million dollar answer here.  “I think we can find common ground.”  Again, are you kidding me?  That’s it?  That has to be the most over used phrase in any politician’s vocabulary.   Where is some meat and specific things she would do the change the health care industry?  Answer, she doesn’t have any.  She is an empty jacket that hasn’t had an original thought in the four years she has been in Congress.  She is an embarrassment in fact.

  I could go on and on regarding this interview and the lack of and substantial response.  Is it any wonder why Matsui refused to debate me at the League of Women’s Voter Forum last year!   Go to Www.SacBee.com and search Matsui to view the entire article.
I hope in the next election the Sacramento Bee will at least ask some tough questions and not give Matsui or any other candidate a pass on any subject.  I also hope the voters see just how worthless Doris Matsui is and demand full debates and campaigning by her for the first time.  Time to stop hiding Doris Matsui!
